Molecular epidemiological characteristics of the isolates were examined using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), and multilocus sequence typing (MLST) (Pasteur scheme-cpn60, fusA, gltA, pyrG, recA, rplB, and rpoB). Multiplex PCR was used to investigate the carbapenemase genes, including bla(OXA-23-like),bla(OXA-24-like), bla(OXA-48-like), bla(OXA-58-like), bla(IMP), bla(VIM) and bla(NDm). PFGE genotyping yielded 92 pulsotypes with a clustering ratio of 69.7%. As per a >= 85% similarity coefficient, 159 (90.9%) isolates were found to be clonally related. The bla(OXA-)(23-like) and bla(OXA-)(58)-like genes were identified in 100% and 28.2% of the isolates, respectively. The bla(NDM) gene was identified in two isolates. The MLST analysis included 54 isolates with different pulsotypes, and 29 sequence types (STs). Most of the isolates (n = 36) belonged to the clonal complex (CC)2, one isolate belonged to CC1, and one isolate belonged to CC164. Sixteen new STs (ST1235-ST1250) were identified. Identifying both global ST2 and a large number of new STs, revealed high genetic diversity in A. baumannii isolates in the study population.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Minist Hlth, Natl Mol Microbiol Reference Lab, Publ Hlth Gen Directorate, Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Unaldi, Ozlem</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Minist Hlth, Natl Mol Microbiol Reference Lab, Publ Hlth Gen Directorate, Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Guldemir, Dilek</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Minist Hlth, Dept Med Microbiol, Ankara City Hosp, Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Aydogan, Sibel</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Tinaztepe Izmir Univ, Fac Med, Dept Med Microbiol, Izmir, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Kuzucu, Cigdem</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Istanbul Univ Cerrahpasa, Cerrahpasa Fac Med, Dept Med Microbiol, Istanbul, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Cakirlar, Fatma Koksal</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Yildirim Beyazit Univ, Fac Med, Dept Med Microbiol, Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Acikgoz, Ziya Cibali</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Yildirim Beyazit Univ, Fac Med, Dept Med Microbiol, Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Durmaz, Riza</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Univ, Fac Med, Dept Med Microbiol, TR-07400 Antalya, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Gozalan, Aysegul</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2021-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20221007083844.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:aperta.ulakbim.gov.tr:233202</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-destekli-proje-yayinlari</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:2efa49da5a718a56eb41a8d5c9a3686b</subfield> <subfield code="s">297</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/233202/files/bib-07f9d03b-0df3-4820-87f4-9c48ce0295b8.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.7883/yoken.JJID.2020.478</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
