Polycomplexes containing progesterone appeared to possess a high steroid-specific immunogenic activity. A comparative study of immunogenic properties of polycomplexes versus BSA.P + incomplete Freund's adjuvant (IFA) mixtures revealed differences in regards to the specificity of antibody production. In contrast to the IFA system, polycomplexes were able to generate P- as well as BSA-specific antibodies. Such a response is determined, possibly, by increases in the immunogenicity of weak antigenic determinants on the surface of protein globules and/or by the representation of 'dormant' determinants existing in the inner site upon complex formation with polyelectrolytes. Finally, using a short immunization procedure based on use of PAA-Cu2+-BSA polycomplexes, we produced seven monoclonal antibodies against progesterone included in polyelectrolyte complexes with affinities K-d ranging between 1.3 x 10(-7) and 9 x 10(-8) M.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Yucel, F</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Cirakoglu, B</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Bermek, E</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Mustafaev, M</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">1996-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20210316151007.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="773" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="n">doi</subfield> <subfield code="a">10.81043/aperta.103800</subfield> <subfield code="i">isVersionOf</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:zenodo.org:103801</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-adresli-yayinlar</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:0e769098660881f60a5339b165939641</subfield> <subfield code="s">236</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/103801/files/bib-b0c483ca-73e6-4320-ad7d-c4f71b5568b0.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.81043/aperta.103801</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
