First, PSUs were converted to azido-functionalized polymers by successive chloromethylation and azidation. Propargylpyrene was prepared independently as a fluorescent click component. Finally, the azido-functionalized PSUs were coupled with propargylpyrene with high efficiency by copper-catalyzed azide/alkyne click reactions.
