Z.</dc:creator> <dc:creator>Ekem, N.</dc:creator> <dc:date>2015-01-01</dc:date> <dc:description>In this study, glass and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) sample were coated with Barium Fluoride (BaF2) as a mono layer using Thermionic Vacuum Arc (TVA) technique for the first time. The morphologies of the deposited samples were investigated by using atomic force microscopy (AFM). A stoichiometric value of coated surface was determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectrophotometer (EDS). Transmittances, reflectance, thickness and refractive indices of coated samples with BaF2 were measured by Uv-vis spectrophotometer and interferometer to characterize their optical properties. The films with high transparency and low reflections values were produced.
