<dc:description>The essential oil from the root bark of Ficus exasperata cultivated in Nigeria were examined by GC and GC-MS. The essential oil was characterized by the presence of alpha-terpineol (33.7%), alpha-pinene (10.8%), sabinene (5.6%), beta-patchoulene (4.7%), 1,8-cineole (3.1%), and alpha-thujopsene (2.1%) as the major compounds. The volatile oil was assessed against clinical strain of Candida albicans. The low minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) of this compound (1.1 mu g/mL) is among the basis of this report.</dc:description>
