Bunlardan ilki do\u011frudan uzmanl\u0131k alan\u0131 olan Orta &Ccedil;a\u011f Avrupas\u0131, di\u011feri ise tarih metodolojisi alan\u0131d\u0131r. Metodoloji alan\u0131ndaki perspektifi John Tosh ve Peter Burke gibi tarih&ccedil;iler taraf\u0131ndan payla\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Di\u011fer taraftan Eric Hobsbawm, Postan&rsquo;\u0131 eski Marksist tarih&ccedil;iler aras\u0131nda de\u011ferlendirirken, Harvey J. Kaye, Postan&rsquo;\u0131n &ccedil;al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 Marksist olmasa bile materyalist bulur. Yine Eric Hobsbawm Cambridge&rsquo;te kendilerinde Annales &uuml;zerinden bir fark\u0131ndal\u0131k yarat\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131, Annales&rsquo;ten haberdar olmalar\u0131n\u0131 Postan&rsquo;a ba\u011flar. Michael Postan, &ccedil;evirisi sunulan makalesinde tarihsel olgular\u0131n bir se&ccedil;ime g&ouml;re yap\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirtir. Di\u011fer yandan tarih&ccedil;inin yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 kurguyu da &ouml;nemsemektedir. Ayn\u0131 makalede Postan tarih teorisi alan\u0131ndaki kimi sorunlar\u0131n, ara\u015ft\u0131rma y&ouml;ntemleri &uuml;zerinden a\u015f\u0131labilece\u011fini ortaya koymaktad\u0131r.</p>\n\n<p>Abstract</p>\n\n<p>Michael Postan, although unknown to historical circles of Turkey, has played at least two important roles in the area of the historiography. First has been in his profession of medieval European history, while the other has been in the realm of historical methodology. His historiographic perspective is supported by historians such as John Tosh and Peter Burke. Eric Hobsbawm assesses&nbsp;Postan as an orthodox Marxist historian, while Harvey J. Kaye assesses his studies as not exactly Marxist, but materialistic. Moreover, Hobsbawm again gives the credit of being informed of the Annales and thus gaining a due awareness in their Cambridge years to Postan. Michael Postan, in his translated article, asserts that the historical phenomena are the results of a selection; moreover, he regards the constructive contribution of the historian as equally important. In the same article, Postan claims that certain problems of historiography can be overcome by means of utilizing certain research methods.</p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
