  <dc:description>Two series of amphiphilic carbohydrate-phthalocyanine conjugates have been prepared either by glycosylation or by copper-catalyzed click coupling. A common precursor, a hydroxylated phthalocyanine, was directly glycosylated or converted into an azido derivative before undergoing grafting of propargyl-carbohydrates by click reaction.</dc:description>
