    <description descriptionType="Abstract">Unsymmetrical phthalocanines (5 - 7) with a single macrocyclic substituent are synthesized by the reaction of the boron complex of phthalonitrile (1) with the iminoisoindoline derivatives 2 - 4 of macrocyclic compounds, i.e. 15-crown-5, mono-aza-15-crown-5, and tetraazacyclotetradecane. The mono-macrocycle-substituted phthalocyanines are less soluble than the tetra-substituted one.</description>
