Having shown that peptide chirality can be transferred to the covalently-attached achiral pyrene moiety upon PA self-assembly, the chiral information is transferred to molecular pyrene via weak noncovalent interactions. In the first design of a supramolecular chiral system, the chromophore was covalently attached to a peptide sequence (VVAGH) via an e-aminohexanoic acid spacer. Covalent attachment yielded a PA molecule self-assembling into nanofibers. In the second design, the chromophore was encapsulated within the hydrophobic core of self-assembled nanofibers of another PA consisting of the same peptide sequence attached to lauric acid. We observed that supramolecular chirality was induced in the chromophore by PA assembly into chiral nanostructures, whether it was covalently attached, or noncovalently bound.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Bilkent Univ, Natl Nanotechnol Res Ctr UNAM, Inst Mat Sci & Nanotechnol, TR-06800 Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Guler, Mustafa O.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Bilkent Univ, Natl Nanotechnol Res Ctr UNAM, Inst Mat Sci & Nanotechnol, TR-06800 Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Garifullin, Ruslan</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2015-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20210316054611.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:zenodo.org:81335</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-destekli-proje-yayinlari</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:f8e593ab10e8aca72a484cc469125871</subfield> <subfield code="s">158</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/81335/files/bib-6078b20c-8824-408b-a78c-95648e278326.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.1039/c5cc04982b</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
