The packets are scheduled according to a last-come first-serve policy with preemption in service, and are transmitted over the channel using a simple automatic repetition request protocol. We consider quadrature phase shift keying modulation, pilot-assisted transmission, maximum-likelihood channel estimation, and mismatched scaled nearest-neighbor decoding. Our analysis, which exploits nonasymptotic tools in information theory, allows one to determine, for a given information packet size, the physical layer parameters such as the SNR, the number of transmit and receive antennas, the amount of frequency diversity to exploit, and the number of pilot symbols, to ensure that the system operates below a target peak-age violation probability.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Chalmers Univ Technol, Gothenburg, Sweden</subfield> <subfield code="a">Devassy, Rahul</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Chalmers Univ Technol, Gothenburg, Sweden</subfield> <subfield code="a">Durisi, Giuseppe</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Middle East Tech Univ, Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Uysal, Elif</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">conferencepaper</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Chalmers Univ Technol, Gothenburg, Sweden</subfield> <subfield code="a">Ostman, Johan</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="711" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">IEEE CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER COMMUNICATIONS WORKSHOPS (IEEE INFOCOM 2019 WKSHPS)</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2019-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20210316030420.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="773" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="n">doi</subfield> <subfield code="a">10.81043/aperta.69598</subfield> <subfield code="i">isVersionOf</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:zenodo.org:69599</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-destekli-proje-yayinlari</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:e9c64ca09dbf69f63ca7de896936b4bc</subfield> <subfield code="s">225</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/69599/files/bib-e3a4fc0a-8524-4cd7-bcb2-d462e0bca578.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> </record>
