In this study, we show that a new nanocatalyst system comprised of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS) stabilized palladium(0) nanoparticles grafted onto the surface of graphene oxide (Pd/GO) efficiently works in the catalytic reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) under mild reaction conditions. Pd/GO nanocatalyst was reproducibly prepared through two-steps procedure: (i) H-2 reduction of Pd(dba)2(dba= dibenzylideneacetone) in the presence of APTS in THF to synthesize colloidal APTS stabilized palladium(0) nanoparticles and then (ii) the deposition of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane stabilized palladium 0) nanoparticles onto the surface of graphene oxide (GO) by impregnation. The characterization of Pd/GO was carried out by advanced analytical techniques. The summation of the results acquired from these analyses reveals that the formation of well-dispersed and highly crystalline palladium(0) nanoparticles on the surface of GO. The catalytic performance of the resulting Pd/GO in terms of activity and stability was assessed in the catalytic reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) in aqueous solution in the presence of formic acid (HCOOH) as a reducing agent. We found that Pd/GO nanocatalyst exhibits high activity (TOF= 3.6 mol Cr2O72-/mol Pdxmin) and reusability (> 90% at 5th reuse) in this catalytic transformation at room temperature.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Yuzuncu Yil Univ, Dept Chem, Nanomat & Catalysis Res Grp, TR-65080 Van, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Karakas, Kadir</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Yuzuncu Yil Univ, Dept Chem, Nanomat & Catalysis Res Grp, TR-65080 Van, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Ertas, Ilknur Efecan</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Atilim Univ, Dept Chem Engn & Appl Chem, TR-06836 Ankara, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Kaya, Murat</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Yuzuncu Yil Univ, Dept Chem, Nanomat & Catalysis Res Grp, TR-65080 Van, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Zahmakiran, Mehmet</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Yuzuncu Yil Univ, Dept Chem, Nanomat & Catalysis Res Grp, TR-65080 Van, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Celebi, Metin</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2017-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20210315215439.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:zenodo.org:46841</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-destekli-proje-yayinlari</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:0b632730d41178943952ced268534173</subfield> <subfield code="s">243</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/46841/files/bib-c7972ef7-6c4d-433a-a4e8-5baac4143195.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.1002/slct.201700967</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
