Drawing from a thorough examination of global and regional datasets, the review exposes the prodigious extent of food wastage, establishing its roots in production, distribution, and consumption stages. Ecologically, the implications of food waste are profound, significantly contributing to increased greenhouse gas emissions, accentuating water and energy resource depletion, and posing impending threats to biodiversity.
