Adult webcam modeling represents a complex field that demonstrates how digital transformation is reshaping sex work. Financial motivations and flexible working hours often drive career choices, but some models enter this field due to psychological factors such as loneliness and social exclusion. Work experiences shaped by the digital nature of this profession emphasize autonomy and flexibility. However, social perception and stigmatization can significantly impact the self-esteem and mental health of models. Personal well-being is influenced by emotional stress and social isolation, while ethical and security issues revolve around privacy, consent, and online harassment. In Turkey, legal and moral debates about such activities raise awareness of the risks models may face. This research is based on in-depth, qualitative interviews with 12 women living in Turkey and working as adult webcam models, conducted between May and June 2024. These interviews, aimed at understanding participants' motivations and experiences, were supported by a rigorous process that enhanced the reliability and comprehensiveness of the research. The exploration of adult webcam modeling reveals a complex interplay of financial incentives, personal empowerment, and digital transformation, while also highlighting significant challenges related to social stigma, personal well-being, and ethical considerations, particularly within the Turkish context where legality and moral acceptability are contentious issues. In Turkey, the activities of adult webcam models are contentious due to debates about their legality and moral acceptability.
