Biotechnological Potential of Algae in Sustainable Development

Algal biotechnology emerges as a significant player in the quest for sustainable solutions to global environmental challenges. This review explores the multifaceted applications of algae in areas such as biofuel production, biodegradable plastics, and nutritional supplements, highlighting their role in promoting a sustainable future. By synthesizing data from various studies, this paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the current biotechnological uses of algae and their impact on sustainable development. The review also discusses technological advancements and methodologies that enhance algal productivity and efficiency. Key challenges such as scalability, economic viability, and environmental impact are examined to identify research gaps and propose future directions. The findings suggest that while algal biotechnology holds substantial promise, strategic research, and policy frameworks are essential to harness its full potential in addressing ecological and economic sustainability. This paper aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue and stimulate further research in this dynamic field.
