Objectives The current contribution covers how to determine percentages of different isomeric conjugated fatty acids. Methods The percentages of these isomers are analysed by quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) using benzoic acid as an internal reference chemical with a well-defined amount. Linear mathematical equations are developed for the quantitative analysis of fatty acids found in pomegranate seed oil. Results The developed approach is utilised for the pomegranate seed oils prepared in the laboratory and tested for commercial samples. Among the oils derived at the laboratory, the Yeni Hicaz pomegranate cultivar seeds yielded the highest fraction of punicic acid. Among the acids, punicic acid was the one with the highest fraction, while linolenic acid was the one with the lowest percentage. Conclusions These results are important in identifying pomegranate seed oils. Among the commercial samples tested with the current approach, only one of them showed similar content analysis as in the laboratory-derived oils.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Gebze Tech Univ, Fac Sci, Dept Chem, Kocaeli, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Un, Sule Sahin</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Balikesir Municipal Farmer Educ Ctr, Burhaniye, Balikesir, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Tanrikulu, Nazim</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Gebze Tech Univ, Fac Sci, Dept Chem, Kocaeli, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Unlu, Aise</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Kuwait Inst Sci Res, Petr Res Ctr, POB 24885, Safat 13109, Kuwait</subfield> <subfield code="a">Ok, Salim</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Chem Grp Labs, TUBITAK UME, Kocaeli, Turkey</subfield> <subfield code="a">Un, Ilker</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2022-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20221007104238.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:aperta.ulakbim.gov.tr:239874</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-adresli-yayinlar</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:ef7388059699c8942310b8345bacf635</subfield> <subfield code="s">232</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/239874/files/bib-98516f79-2e28-475e-894c-31905e9e144b.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.1002/pca.3101</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
