The majority of CMD patients are postmenopausal women, suggesting a role for lack of estrogens in the development and progression of CMD. Patients are often discharged without a clear treatment plan due to the limited understanding of etiology and diagnostic parameters of CMD and have significantly higher rates of future cardiovascular events. Thus, there is a need for a better understanding of the underlying biology, and CMD-specific diagnostic tests and therapies. In this article, we reviewed recent studies on CMD, estrogen action in coronary microvasculature, and diagnosis and treatment options for CMD in postmenopausal women.</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Univ Illinois, Dept Food Sci & Human Nutr, Urbana, IL 61801 USA</subfield> <subfield code="a">Eve, Alicia Arredondo</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Madak-Erdogan, Zeynep</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="b">article</subfield> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">Univ Illinois, Dept Food Sci & Human Nutr, Urbana, IL 61801 USA</subfield> <subfield code="a">Tunc, Elif</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2020-01-01</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20210315072823.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="909" ind1="C" ind2="O"> <subfield code="o">oai:zenodo.org:10561</subfield> <subfield code="p">user-tubitak-destekli-proje-yayinlari</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="z">md5:fc3298697cc9b6b56a5c1ec21ed31035</subfield> <subfield code="s">169</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://aperta.ulakbim.gov.trrecord/10561/files/bib-9067e101-f4e1-4ff8-a3cb-2e20619eaa8f.txt</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">http://www.opendefinition.org/licenses/cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.1016/j.tem.2019.11.001</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> </record>
