  <dc:description>Alkanediyldisulfanyl-bridged polymeric phthalocyanines and a tetrakis(hexylsulfanyl)-substituted monomeric model compound have been synthesized by the reaction of 4,4'-(hexane-1,6-diyldisulfanyl)diphthalonitrile and 4-hexylsulfanylphthalonitrile, respectively, with Ni-II in quinoline; the electrical conductivity of the phthalocyanines are in the semiconductor range and chemical doping with NOBF4 and Br-2 increases the d.c. conductivity by five orders of magnitude.</dc:description>
