    <description descriptionType="Abstract">Past and projected quantitative primary and secondary fuel mixes of the Turkish transportation sector are presented for the period 1970-2020. CO2, SO2, NOx, particulate matter emissions resulting from fossil fuel based energy consumption in the transportation sector are estimated till the year 2010 using appropriate emission factors for each fuel/transportation system pair. Lead emissions are also included. Strategies for rational utilization of energy in the transportation sector are discussed as well.</description>
