Description
We report the fabrication and the characterization of nitrogen buffered and pure cesium atomic vapor cells for cardiomagnetometer applications. The cell production method was explained. The D1 and D2 transitions of pure Cs cells by using Doppler-free saturated absorption spectroscopy were recorded. The natural linewidth of F=4 to F=5' transition was measured as 5.36 MHz. Mx type magnetometer setup was used to measure and compare the magnetic resonance linewidths of the pure and buffered Cs vapor cells. The measured halfwidths of the phase signals are 1039 Hz and 4450 Hz for N-2 buffered and pure Cs vapor cells, respectively. The corresponding sensitivities of the manufactured cells for the cardiomagnetometer applications are 22.4 pT/root Hz and 76 pT/root HZ, respectively.
