Investigation of Backing Material Used in Ultrasonic Transducers In Terms of Acoustical Parameters

Description
In this study, the backing material located in the bodies of ultrasonic transducers was investigated in terms of hardness values in order to find the best material mixing ratios. In addition, acoustic parameters of materials in the different mixing ratios doped with different amounts of tungsten such as density, sound velocity, attenuation coefficient were measured and acoustic impedance values were calculated. As a consequence, it has been detected that as the weight of tungsten in the mixture boost, acoustic harmonization also rises.
