A new pyran derivative analog from the whole plant of Cirsium italicum

The aim of the present article was to analyze the phytochemical composition of EtOAc extract ofCirsium italicum(Savi) DC. and to determine the antioxidant activity of a new compound1. The EtOAc extract ofC. italicumwas purified by different chromatographic methods. Compound1was isolated from the whole plant ofC. italicum. Its structure was established on the basis of UV, IR, 1 D, 2 D NMR, and HRESI-MS methods and antioxidant activities of this compound were investigated using TEAC, FRAP, and CUPRAC assays. According to the ABTS assays, the TEAC capacity of compound 1 was determined as 0.186 mmol TE/g.
