Comparison of The Directed Bow-Tie Antenna Types for Direction Finding at UHF

  • 1. TUBITAK BILGEM, Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey

Description

Direction finding is the determination of the location of radio signal sources. The important parts of these systems are antennas which have to be wideband, small and directive. In this paper, we compare both directed triangular and directed rounded-edge bow-tie antennas for direction finding systems at UHF. HFSS is used to obtain return loss and voltage standing wave ratio of the antennas. The conclusion is drawn that directed triangular bow-tie antenna is better than directed rounded-edge bow-tie antenna for direction finding at UHF.
