Description

The subject of Cognitive Radio seems to have a remarkable point among the next generation telecommunication technologies. The accomplishment that the Cognitive Radio offers is to be able to adapt itself to the internal and external conditions by sensing the surrounding communication environments of the radio. This ability provides flexibility to the communication technologies that today's radios can not offer. In order to achieve the aimed flexibility it is inevitable to use Software Defined Radios instead of traditional hardware radios. Although some researches exist on these areas, they are not considered mature enough to solve all the problems. In this study, Software Defined Radio architecture considered as the fundamental base of Cognitive Radio is discussed and an architecture is proposed
