Description

The main goal of experiments, presented in this paper, was to check the possibility to use two wastes: red mud from alumina production and boron waste from boron production, for belite cement production. Obtained results were confirming that both wastes can be applied in belite cement production. Relatively high content of boron in BW waste was causing the increase of alpha' polymorph of Ca2SiO4 in clinker, which beside belite had a positive effect on cement strength development. Raw mixes with Lime Saturation Factor 0.76, 081, and 0,87 were burnt at 1300 degrees C and quickly cooled in air. Clinker ground with gypsum addition was assuring cement properties fulfilling class 22.5 according to EN 14216 Standard.
