Synthesis and Photoluminescence Properties of Saccharide Conjugated Copper Phthalocyanine via Click Reaction

  • 1. Gaziantep Univ, Dept Chem, TR-27310 Gaziantep, Turkey

Description

This research concentrates on the preparation, characterization, and photoluminescence properties of saccharide conjugated copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) and its metal-free precursor (H2Pc). The H2Pc ligand gave intense emissions (where lambda(max) = 701nm) upon irradiation by visible light. The photoluminescence quantum yields and long excited-state lifetimes of these compounds were measured. The H2Pc has photoluminescence quantum yield of 0.42 and long excited-state lifetime of 3.89ns. The photoluminescence intensities and quantum yields of H2Pc decreased dramatically upon complexation with copper metal and derivatization with saccharide groups.
