Description

Using Monte Carlo simulations, we have investigated a magnetic nanoparticle system composed of a ferromagnetic core which is surrounded by an antiferromagnetic shell layer. We have focused on the influence of the particle shape (i.e. prolate, oblate and spherical) and microstructure of the particle interface on the magnetic properties. In the first part, we have presented finite temperature properties and exchange bias behavior under field cooling process while in the second part we have discussed the dynamic phase transition behavior and magnetic heating efficiency to be used in magnetic hyperthermia applications. A number of interesting results such as fluctuating exchange bias field depending on the particle shape, and unconventional relation between the dynamic hysteresis loop area and the specific absorption rate have been reported.
