Description
Three new alpha,alpha-diamino-porphyrin based diimine ligands (H(2)A(1)-H(2)A(3)) and their Cu(II) complexes were prepared and characterised by the spectroscopic and analytical methods. The structure of alpha,alpha-5,10-bis-(o-aminophenyl)-15,20-diphenylporphyrin (TPPo-NH2) was determined by X-ray diffraction method. In the structure two amine units on the phenyl moiety of the porphyrin core were found to be disordered over eight possible sites on the phenyl rings. The absorption properties of the porphyrin-diimine ligands and their Cu(II) complexes were studied both in the solution and solid state. The substitue groups in the ligands were found to effect the absorption bands of the ligands. The complexation of the ligands with Cu(II) have caused to decrase the number of the Q-bands in the absorption spectra. The pH dependant aggregation behaviour of TPPo-NH2 and ligands were investigated by UV-Vis spectral studied. Electro-chemical properties of the ligands and their Cu(II) complexes were investigated in DMF solution. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
