Four-component, one-pot synthesis of 2-aryl-4-thionylquinoline derivatives and their aromatization

Description
Four-component, one-pot condensation of dimedon, thiophene-2-carbaldehyde, ammonium acetate, and numerous acetophenones yielded novel 2-aryl-4-thionylquinoline derivatives. The structures were characterized by (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, IR, and elemental analysis.
