Description
Ionone-based terpenoid-like bischalcones (3a-h and 4a-h) were synthesized from the reaction of alpha- and/or beta-ionones with aldehyde derivatives in excellent yields. The antibacterial activities of synthesized compounds were screened against human pathogenic micro-organisms by employing the disk-diffusion technique.
