Physicochemical Properties of Lakes on Horseshoe Island

This dataset contains in situ water quality measurements collected from lakes on and around Horseshoe Island during the Turkish Antarctic Expeditions conducted between 2023 and 2025. Measurements were carried out at multiple sampling locations in Puller, Clincher, Pritchel, Rasp, Skua, and Zano Lakes, as well as in lakes provisionally identified as Lake X and Lake Y, using a portable multiparameter water quality meter. The dataset includes water temperature (°C), pH, electrical conductivity (µS/cm), total dissolved solids (TDS; ppm), and dissolved oxygen expressed both as percentage saturation (%) and concentration (mg/L). Measurement date, lake and station information, and geographic coordinates of the sampling locations are also provided. These data provide baseline information on the physicochemical characteristics of freshwater environments on Horseshoe Island and may support assessments of spatial and temporal variability, long-term environmental monitoring, and future studies on environmental change in Antarctic lake ecosystems.
