Açıklama

In this study, it was aimed to make an economic analysis of red lentil production in red lentil producing farms in Konya province of T & uuml;rkiye. The main material of the study consisted of primary data collected by face-to-face survey method from 54 farms in Bey & scedil;ehir district, which constitutes approximately half of the red lentil production of Konya province. Neyman method was used to distribute the sample farms according to the size of red lentil production area. According to the results of the research; production costs of farms in red lentil production averaged $1,668.51 per hectare, of which 63.19% were variable costs and 36.81% were fixed costs. The major production costs were: 32.64% land rent cost, 25.76% fertilizer cost, 15.35% machinery rent cost and 15.35% seed cost. The average red lentil cultivation area was 4.80 ha, the average yield was 2,803.33 kg/ha and the average price per kg was $0.82. Gross production value varied between $2,244.55 and $2,559.87 per hectare among farm size groups and was calculated as $2,478.80 on average. Relative profit ranged between 1.38 and 1.53 among farm size groups and was determined as 1.49 on average. All red lentil production in the region is realized without the use of water and production is directly dependent on climatic factors. In addition, the contribution of agricultural subsidies provided by the government to the gross production value is low. Modern irrigation investments will increase red lentil yield per unit area. With the increase in the amount of agricultural support, red lentil farms will be able to meet some of the inputs from there.
