Evaluating Digitalization Capabilities: The Impact of Education, Technology Usage, and Organizational Factors in Turkey's Technology Sector

This study investigates the digitalization capabilities of employees in Turkey's technology sector, focusing on the influence of demographic and organizational factors such as gender, education, years of experience, company size, technology usage, and managerial roles. The research employs a survey based on the European Digital Competences Framework. Data were collected from 119 participants, and statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 27.0. The results indicate that while work experience and educational status had no significant effect on digitalization abilities, gender and technology usage were important factors. Participants with advanced levels of technology use demonstrated stronger digitalization capabilities, particularly in programming, problem-solving, and security. Interestingly, variables such as being a manager and company size did not significantly impact digital competencies, suggesting that digital transformation is not restricted to specific organizational roles or company scales. The findings emphasize the need for continuous adoption of advanced technology to boost digital competencies, highlighting the importance of fostering digital culture within organizations to drive successful digital transformation.
