Description

A bandwidth tunable filtering power divider (FPD) with two switchable channels is proposed by using two dual-mode loop resonators (DMLRs) in different electrical lengths. The DMLRs are coupled to input/output ports to form the bandpass filter response, while a Wilkinson power divider is integrated at the end of the filter for power division. The proposed resonators can be activated through the single-pole-double-throw (SPDT) RF switches that can also feed the resonators by high-impedance feeding lines. Varactor diodes are used to achieve bandwidth tunability and each channel can be electronically turned on or off. The designed FPD has been fabricated and measured in a very good agreement with the predicted results. Two channels have been centered at 1.8 and 2.05 GHz, where the 3-dB bandwidths can be tuned from to 80-120 and 80-140 MHz.
