Description

In this study, kinetic characterization of V2O5 added SiO2-CaO-SrO-B2O3-Al2O3-Bi2O3 glass-ceramics was performed using the Kissinger Method. Glasses named V2, V3, and V4, according to increasing V2O5 ratios, V1 being without additive, were obtained using the melt quenching method at 1400 degrees C. After X-ray Diffraction (XRD) Analysis confirmed the glass formation, activation energies were evaluated with Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) data obtained at heating rates of 10 degrees C/min, 20 degrees C/min, and 40 degrees C/min. Avrami parameters and glass forming abilities (GFA) were calculated with the help of critical temperatures obtained as a result of thermal analysis. While the V1 composition showed two-dimensional crystal growth, surface crystallization was observed in the V2, V3, and V4 glass compositions. As a result of the softening analysis, glass-ceramic was obtained by heat treatment at 850 degrees C, and (Scanning Electron Microscope) SEM was used for microstructure analysis. SEM and EDS (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy) analyses revealed the distribution of crystalline phases, including vanadium oxide, strontium aluminum oxide, wollastonite, bismuth oxide, and strontium aluminum silicate, consistent with XRD results.
