Description

As the standardization process for 5G progresses, efforts are already underway for the development of the sixth generation. In our rapidly digitalizing world, where the number of connected devices is increasing day by day, expectations from a communication network are constantly changing. With the effect of the paradigm, users started to demand the least latency for applications that will provide more data, higher speeds, and remote control without error. This paper provides a glimpse of the next generation that will come after the 5G technology. An overview of the 6G mobile wireless network, its key performance improvements compared with 4G and 5G, enabler technologies, and features of the new generation radio access network architecture is given in this paper. The future of the 6G mobile network structure, challenges, and future works are discussed. The current state of the enabler technologies integrated into the 6G network are presented. Additionally, the current research including up-to-date use cases are discussed in this paper. Following the explanation of the developments and functions of the new network architecture, a list of enabler technologies has been provided. Finally, the forthcoming challenges that the 6G network architecture will encounter, along with the prospects for the new network, are presented. This paper aims to develop an understanding of the 6G mobile wireless network structure.
