Description
In this study, position resolution calculations are presented for the lutetium-yttrium oxyorthosilicate (LYSO) crystal, which has recently been proposed for many high energy physics experiments due to its advantages. For this purpose, a module consisting of nine LYSO crystals in the form of a 3×3 matrix has been designed. Two methods have been studied to determine the impact position of a particle hitting the crystal: linear weighting and logarithmic weighting. The dependence of position resolution on the angle of the incident particle and the cross section of the crystal was examined using the Geant4 simulation code.
