Curling Focus Instructions
Açıklama
Dataset Title:
Curling Attentional Focus Instructions (Internal vs. External) – Experimental Materials
Description:
This dataset contains the standardized attentional focus instructions used in an experimental study examining the effects of internal and external focus of attention on curling shot performance.
The materials include both English and Turkish versions of the instructions administered to participants under four experimental conditions:
(1) Internal focus – take-out shot (easy task)
(2) Internal focus – freeze shot (difficult task)
(3) External focus – take-out shot (easy task)
(4) External focus – freeze shot (difficult task)
Internal focus instructions direct participants’ attention toward their own body movements, including balance control, weight transfer, and arm relaxation during the delivery. External focus instructions direct attention toward movement outcomes and environmental cues, such as the target stone, broom position, and the intended trajectory of the stone.
All instructions were delivered in a standardized and scripted format to ensure consistency across participants. The materials were used as part of a controlled experimental design investigating attentional focus, expertise level, and task difficulty in curling performance.
File Format:
Text document (.docx)
Reusability:
These materials can be used in future research on attentional focus, motor learning, and sport performance, particularly in precision-based target sports. They may also serve as a reference for experimental design and replication studies.
