Description

This study presents a Radio Frequency (RF) harvesting antenna design targeting GSM and LTE bands. The rapid development of RF and wireless sources (such as Wi-Fi signals, AM/FM radio, cellular networks, digital/analog TV, etc.) has made RF energy a very promising alternative environmental energy source. The ability to convert ambient signals into useful DC power both indoors and outdoors at all times of the day enhances the advantageous nature of RF energy harvesting. The obtained DC power will be utilized to power low-power electronic circuit applications. In this study, a microstrip antenna design targeting the GSM1900 and LTE2100 bands has been developed. FR4 material with a dielectric constant of 4.3 and a thickness of 1.6 mm is used as the dielectric substrate layer. The dimensions of the designed antenna are set as [55x55x1.6] mm(3).
