Description

This study uses self-consistent computational methods to theoretically investigate the transport mechanisms of monolayer graphene structures under quantum Hall conditions. From the results obtained, incompressible strips formed in the center of the sample. The system exhibits an insulating behavior since the electrons here do not contribute to the shielding. As compressible strips are formed at the edges, more electrons can be placed in these regions. Thus, the system will behave like a metal, and current will flow through these areas. The compressible states observed in systems such as two-dimensional electron gas are also observed in graphene systems. In addition, it is predicted that compressible strips can be formed in non-graphene carbon-based two-dimensional systems. This study will make an important contribution to the literature.
