Description

A new ligand bis(5-nitroindazolyl) methane has been synthesized and characterized by the elemental analysis, I.R., 1H, and13C n.m.r. spectroscopy. A series of transition metal complexes have been prepared and new bimetallic complexes of CuII and CoII with organotin(IV) were also synthesized. All complexes have been characterized by various physico-chemical methods. The reaction kinetics of monometallic (C30H20N14O14Cu) and the bimetallic complexes (C32H26O14CuSnC12) towards the CTDNA has been studied spectrophoto-metrically. The kobs values were calculated under pseudo-first order conditions at different concentrations of CTDNA. The redox behavior of the mono and bimetallic CuII complex was studied in the presence and absence of CTDNA in aqueous solution by cyclic voltammetry. The cyclic voltammogram reveals a quasi-reversible redox wave and one electron transfer couple CuI/CuII for both monometallic as well as bimetallic complex. On the basis of the results obtained, it was inferred that binding mode of CTDNA with complexes is via intercalation.
