Description
Due to the fire incidents taking place in our country in recent years, it has become increasingly important to analyze the effects of the fire with various metrics on the basis of burned areas. The size of the burned areas by area determines the performance of the field analysis. With the advancement of technology, analysis from satellite images has become popular, especially in cases with wide spread areas, for the analysis of fire, examination of vegetation, and comparison with the old state of the region. In this study, NBR (Normalized Combustion Rate) and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) indexes of Bodrum-Milas and Marmaris fire zones were analyzed using remote sensing techniques using Sentinel 2 satellite images, and the intensity of burning and the ratio of these intensities to the percentile area were calculated. A comparison was made with other studies conducted for these regions and the performance was measured by accepting them as separate references.
