Elimination of Elevation Induced Errors in Hybrid Direction Finding
- 1. TUBITAK BILGEM ILTAREN, Ankara, Turkiye
Description
In electronic support systems, direction finding plays a critical role in detecting the location of threat radar signals. Phase comparison direction finding method obtains direction information by measuring the phase differences between radar signals received by different antennas. However, this method introduces phase ambiguity. The hybrid method, which combines phase and amplitude comparison methods, is used to resolve these ambiguities. In this study, the performance of a hybrid direction finding system consisting of two antennas was tested against threat signals coming from different elevations. The aim of the study is to increase the immunity of the amplitude comparison algorithm to elevation differences within the hybrid method.
