AN EFFICIENT SAMPLING TECHNIQUE FOR SEISMIC ASSESSMENT OF AEGEAN GRABEN SYSTEM, TURKEY
Description
The difficulty of reaching all units while working on the population is not only workforce, time,
and financial, but even sometimes impossible. There can also be restrictions. The sample, which
represents the population, is determined with the appropriate sampling method and used to estimate
unknown population parameters in each subject. The main purpose here is to introduce the estimator
with the closest actual value among the estimators proposed under conditions. Therefore, many different
types of estimators have been used in the literature. For this study, three different types of estimators are
proposed by considering the non-response situation for the earthquake magnitude estimation. The
efficiency comparisons are supported by theoretical and numerical. In the numerical comparison part,
the depth of the earthquakes and the magnitude measured as three and larger that occurred in the Aegean
Region are determined as the auxiliary and the study variable, respectively. In conclusion, all the results
are discussed in detail.
