Comparison of Frequency and Code Selective Methods for Electromagnetic Exposure Measurement in the Vicinity of a LTE (4G) Base Station
Description
Nowadays, the frequency selective and code selective measurement methods are used for electromagnetic (EM) exposure measurements of Long Term Evolution (LTE) base stations. During the application of these measurement methods, compact electromagnetic field measurement devices, which are designed for environmental measurements of high frequency electromagnetic fields, are widely employed. In this study, the advantages and disadvantages of both of the frequency and code selective measurement methods for EM exposure measurements of LTE base stations were investigated, then EM exposure measurements were carried out by using these two measurement methods in the vicinity of an actual base station with a compact electromagnetic field measurement device. Finally, a comparison was made between the measurement results obtained by using the frequency selective and code selective measurement methods.
