Multi-Hole Waveguide Directional Coupler Design via Brick-Based Microwave Design Methodology
- 1. Antenom Antenna Technol, Ankara, Turkey
Description
A brick-based waveguide component design methodology is presented. The waveguide theory takes part in electromagnetics and microwave theory lectures while it is hard and expensive to realize these components. The brick-based microwave training kit includes metal bricks, dielectric bricks, absorber bricks, ground planes and connectors. This modular structure lets the students design microwave passive components directly in front of a network analyser during the time-limited microwave training classes. Students experience electromagnetic design as a game with the brick-type cells. This paper includes a multi-hole waveguide directional coupler design and compares the performance of two-hole and four-hole couplers.
