Description

Thin films of (NiPcR8, with R = -NHSO2(C6H4)CH3 and -CH2N(SO2C6H4-CH3)CH2(CH2)(8)CH3 have been prepared by spin coating onto gold-coated slides and applied as active layers for the detection of simazine using Total Internal Reflection Ellipsometry (TIRE) technique. Solutions of simazine in deionised water with different concentrations in the range of 0.5-50 mu g/l were used in the current study. Simazine has resulted in an irreversible response on both derivatives of NiPcR8 active layers used in this study, with the minimum determined concentration of 1 mu g/l in water. The results are supported by performing investigation of interaction between phthalocyanines molecules and simazine by Raman spectroscopy. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
