Air pollution due to fossil fuel utilisation in the Turkish transportation sector

Past and projected quantitative primary and secondary fuel mixes of the Turkish transportation sector are presented for the period 1970-2020. CO2, SO2, NOx, particulate matter emissions resulting from fossil fuel based energy consumption in the transportation sector are estimated till the year 2010 using appropriate emission factors for each fuel/transportation system pair. Lead emissions are also included. Strategies for rational utilization of energy in the transportation sector are discussed as well.
