STRAIN-RATE AND TEMPERATURE EFFECT ON THE DEFORMATION-BEHAVIOR OF THE ORIGINAL HADFIELD STEEL
Creators
Description
In this study, the original Hadfield steel (1.2%C and 12%Mn) is investigated under uniaxial tensile test conditions in order to evaluate the mechanical behaviour at different strain rates and temperatures. The constitutive equation of Hadfield steel is determined as a function of strain, strain rate and temperature. In an attempt to explain the mechanism of rapid strain hardening of this steel, microstructural study is also performed and the findings are related to deformation behaviour with the intent of clarifying one of the major problems of Hadfield steel.
