C-band tomography system for imaging of cylindrical objects
Description
Tomographic methods of image reconstruction of two-dimensional cross-sections of cylindric objects are used. A microwave tomography system was created for imaging dielectrical cylindrical objects. It is shown that the image of object illuminated by an electromagnetic signal in the frequency band under consideration (f congruent to 7.5 GHz) may be obtained by using first-order diffraction tomography method through Born approximation for the scattered field. The imaging system involves scanner with a rotating platform. In the test runs, a cylindrical object placed between the transmitter and the receiver antennas is scanned and rotated. Data processing is controlled by a computer system. Real and imaginary parts of scattered field are obtained by using a vector network analyzer. Special software carries out image processing.
