This study proposes a generic distributed system integration laboratory architecture for avionics, which brings together three major architectural components to maintain flexibility: the actual avionic hardware to be tested, the simulated participants of the intended target system, and a configurable data gateway which acts as a hub to integrate modular avionics with the simulated space. As a proof of concept, an implementation of the architecture is presented and discussed.
